Dr. Halfan introduced the Tanzania Health Summit to the guest of honour and all thestakeholders involved namely: Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Tanzania Private Health Sector, Tindwa Medical and Health Services, Christian Social Services Commission and BAKWATA. He informed the guest of honour that there are some 500 participants representing over 100 institutions from across Tanzania, and that there are around 100 speakers in Higher Level Meetings, Key note speakers and paper presentations. Dr. Halfan spoke of the theme of the summit titled: Investment, Innovations and Big Results Now initiative in Health Sector: Drivers of Change to a Healthy Society.
He encouraged other health stakeholders to follow the example of Ifakara Health Institute that has enabled parallel sessions and informed the guest of honour on the Award for the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete. The award, he said, will be given annually. The chairman of the organizing
committee further acknowledged the contribution of participating institutions, the organizing committee, the six sponsors and participating organizations. Special thanks were given to exhibitors, Key Note Speakers and Panelists and all the delegates.
